RMG Lend a Helping Hand – Hartford Primary School

Hartford lending a hand

On Friday 12th August, a team of volunteers from the Northwich Office donated their time to help a local primary school get ready for the upcoming academic year. Rebecca Forster, Matt Handley, Connie Cook, Alex Wheildon, Zoe Goodwin, Richard Harradine, Katey Harrison, Matt Jamieson, Jade Williams, Alison Sutherland and Nikita Mangan spent the afternoon at Hartford Primary School, assisting the Site Maintenance Manager, Jim, with various jobs around the site.

The original project was to apply a wood preserving paint to the playground benches, tables and trim trail; however, the volunteer team worked extremely hard to complete this quickly, and offered to help Jim with more jobs. The team then got stuck in to help clear the school corridors, vacuuming the carpets, putting books away and a general tidy up. After the tidy up, Jim asked if the team would help him do some weeding, as for once, the sun was out! The team were happy to assist, and helped fill a wheelbarrow full of weeds from the front car park and around the playground.

Overall, Jim was very happy with the team and all the jobs that were completed around the school, and found it very helpful to have a group of people lend a hand and complete some jobs which he would have otherwise had to do singlehandedly! He has welcomed us back any time.

Rebecca Forster would like to thank Michelle Higham for making the initial contact with Hartford Primary School and arranging for Jim to make contact with the Business Support Team. She would like to further thank all the volunteers for their hard work and enthusiasm.
