Last Friday, thousands of people walked, ran, swam or cycled at hundreds of events across the UK in aid of Sport Relief. RMG were no different. In aid of Sport Relief, RMG held our own Sport Relief Games, within the Northwich office, and have so far raised over £150 for this fantastic cause!
The day included a cake sale, quizzes and numerous Easter themed games not limited to a sack race and an egg and spoon rally. For our ‘Sport Relief Mile’ our Customer Contact Centre staff pledged to cycle 100 miles in 7 hours on a stationary bike. The team ended the day on 101 miles. A fantastic end of the day push from one of our Contact Centre team leader’s Carina Robinson who biked just under 5 miles in 15 minutes allowed us to hit our target- well done Carina!
Sport relief is a wonderful biennial event that brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money for vulnerable people in both the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
So far, the organisation has helped over 189,000 children to attend school and get an education; they’ve helped over 16,500 people get the support they need to improve their mental health and they’ve administered over 734,000 life saving vaccines to children. It is definitely a cause close the hearts of the Residential Management Group.
So far this year, the total raised by Sport Relief stands at a whopping £56,984,007! This will continue to increase and will be even more impressive by the end of the year.
